Prairie View Campus
Prairie View Campus is just that a campus of healthcare providing a continuum of healthcare services.
It all began with the dream of a group of leaders in the Sanborn community to build a community owned retirement home for its citizens and a home for those needing extra health care. Opening its doors on October 26, 1966, Prairie View has, over the years, with several additions and remodeling, turned itself into one of the few campus communities of healthcare in our area.
Prairie View is Sanborn's largest employer, with many of the staff dedicating over 20 years of service. Our high staffing ratio allows us to deliver care at a 1 staff to 8 resident ratio compared to most facilities 1 to 15 ratio.
Choosing a healthcare provider for yourself or a loved one is never an easy decision, but we pride ourselves in the fact that after you walk through our doors, meet our staff and see our content well cared for residents, you will know we are the place for your loved one to stay.
Our campus offers independent living (Prairie View Manor), assisted living apartments (Prairie View Inn), a skilled nursing home (Prairie View Home) and an Alzheimer's unit (Kuiper Villa).
Prairie View Manor
The Manor is attached to Prairie View Home and offers 18 independent living apartments with an attached garage. Delicious meals and weekly laundry service are provided as well as an activity schedule. The large living area at the center enables elders and their families and friends to gather. One- and two-bedroom apartments are available, and all have screened-in porches. This is independent living at its best!
Prairie View Inn
Prairie View Inn Assisted Living recently opened a new addition on July 7, 2008. "The Inn", as it is often referred as, is made up of 10 one-bedroom apartment units and 6 studios along with a social room, dining area, business office, private dining room, front & back patios and lobby area. We even have a beauty shop located within the building.
Prairie View Inn is staffed 24 hours a day and tenants may have assistance with bathing, dressing, medications and much more. An RN is at the facility on average 24 hours a week and on call 24/7. Each Tenant is given a wireless call light when they move in. This is how they communicate to the staff that they need assistance. The devices can also be used to monitor wandering conerns.
Prairie View Home
Spacious living quarters, activity rooms and solariums, as well as a recently remodeled dining room, kitchen, resident rooms and halls, enables elders, their families and friends to have a comfortable place where human spirit as well as the body is nurtured. Daily activities such as current events, Bible study, games, special programs and exercise class, as well as small group gatherings of special interests are available.
In May of 2011 a new addition of private rooms, a spa and awesome therapy room were added to the home, this allowed us to offer more "private" vs. "semi-private" rooms to our cliental and to modify our therapy program. The spacious therapy room is packed with all the latest rehab equipment for our tenants & residents to use. We even offer Outpatient Therapy in coordination with Sanford Health, out of Sheldon, for the people of the community.
Kuiper Villa
The Villa is a special care unit with lovely private rooms, a safe outdoor courtyard to grow flowers and vegetables or just take a walk during the fare-weather season and an activity and nursing staff that elders call their family. The activity staff offers a flexible, interest-based activity schedule with plenty of time for one-to-one interaction and quite time.
